More about the hunt- 6 full days of hunting includes, Guiding, Accommodations in our comfy wall tent camp with full amenities. meals, beverages, airport transport, trophy prep, wolf license, 1 bear, license and tag and fishing license for May 23-30th hunt. these are 100% harvest opportunity hunts with rifle. 2 bear area means you can harvest a second bear on a trophy fee. Large 7 ft+ bears live in our area, our area is also known to hold one of the higher percentages of color phase bears in Northern Alberta, roughly 25-30% of the population. Camp is located only 30 mins out of the town of Slave lake, meaning you have quick access to a full service town. our camp location has cell phone service for those calls to family at home. Our camp cook makes you feel like your not eating camp food at all. Want to hunt bears but not over the conventional bait site? this is the hunt for you, on the ground spot and stalk hunting for bears is exciting. want the option of bait or Spot and Stalk? this is the camp for you. our area is large and vast, limited numbers of outfitters anywhere in Canada can offer spot and stalk and baited hunts from the same camp, Rough Country can, ask us about this option if it intrigues you. Rifle or Bow/crossbow can be used on these hunts. a rental rifle is available from Rough Country and all of our guides carry guide guns.

Typical day in Bear Camp- wake up, enjoy coffee or tea and breakfast/brunch and good company, morning hunting is an option for those who want it or if we have been seeing quality animals in the A.M. enjoy the warmth and smell of our wood heated mess tent, enjoy the spring weather, relax, enjoy the vacation part of the hunt, for those go getters that want to be out there as much as possible, a quick drive out with our guides to some close spots for bears and wolves may yield some success or some hot tips for the evening hunt. for the May 23-30th week, fishing on our jet boat on slave lake or the Athabasca river is a nice daytime option. Lunch/mid-day bite. just how it sounds a quality feed up meal before the evening hunt. Evening hunt- head out with your guide in pickup trucks or Atv's or both to the bear hot spots, spot and stalk hunters can expect to be hunting oil leases/lease roads, cut blocks/clear cut logging openings, cut-lines, meadows and river/creeks. Once the evening hunt has concluded you will return to camp for another quality meal/night bite and of course great company.

Tag out early? no sweat! you can hunt a second bear, wolves, fish or just relax and enjoy northern Alberta in the spring. Other wildlife that can be viewed on this trip include- Moose, foxes, coyotes, whietailed deer, mule deer, plenty of birds and birds of prey.

Other services offered by Rough Country include- non hunter/spectators for $150 per day. taxidermy work by Global artistics, wolf only hunting and fishing.
